If a thick (virtual) pile of wedding invites has you stressing about what to wear, you’re not alone. But once you see Katie Holmes‘ dreamy blue dress, you’ll have the perfect cool-weather wedding guest outfit for every ceremony on your calendar. Better yet, you can find the silky look on Amazon!
At the Metropolitan Opera House’s opening night gala, Holmes showed up in a dreamy, light blue satin dress layered under a black blazer. The elevated dress style, paired with a structured, warm layer, works well beyond the red carpet, and we’re already envisioning the pretty yet sharp combination on the dance floor at both fall and winter weddings.

This Mogidol Satin Midi Dress gives you Holmes’ look for only $50. It comes in the same soft light blue, with a cowl neck, a low back and spaghetti straps that are thin enough to layer under a blazer or cardigan.
Just in case you’re wondering, yes — the satin fabric looks and feels like real silk. Better yet, the material is surprisingly forgiving. One happy reviewer wrote, “It doesn’t wrinkle and looks more expensive than it actually is. I wore it to a romantic dinner in Rome, and even though I’m carrying a few extra pounds, I felt truly sleek and confident.”
Another five-star shopper wrote, “I will be buying more of them for any wedding I go to!”
Pair this shiny satin dress with strappy heels and a structured blazer, and you’ve got a wedding uniform that works from October through February. Honestly, it’s perfect for baby showers, date nights and Met Opera openings, too.
Wherever you wear this celeb-approved style, you’ll look like someone who sips red and listens to smooth jazz.
