‘Tracker’ Guest Star Praises His Experience on Justin Hartley’s Hit CBS Series After Multiple Cast Exits

A guest star from Justin Hartley‘s hit series Tracker opened up about their experience on the show after multiple cast exits.

Michael Rady, who plays Elliot, took to Instagram on Friday, February 20, to share photos from set, writing, “Tracker season 3 is airing now on CBS. Elliott had a rough season 2. Michael had a great time.”

Elliot was introduced in season 2 as a romantic interest for Reenie (Fiona Rene). Rady isn’t the first guest star to gush over their experience on the show with Lachlan Quarmby sharing his thoughts after being in season 1.

“Justin is awesome. He’s straight in there. He’s a real captain of that ship. That was a great time,” he exclusively told Us Weekly in August 2025. “I got to do an Australian accent. I was told when I was at acting school in Australia that I’d never play a surfer since I just don’t have the look. And I got to play a surfer in Vancouver, who was Australian. That was so fun.”

Justin Hartley‘s Tracker has gone through some surprising cast changes, so who will appear in season 3? Tracker, which premiered in February 2024, follows survivalist Colter (Hartley) as he travels the country to help find missing people, track down information on criminal cases and more. As the cases have grown more complex, Colter has received help […]

Since Tracker premiered in February 2024, viewers have tuned in week after week to see fictional survivalist Colter Shaw (Hartley) travel the country to help solve various missing persons cases. As Colter has gotten help, the ensemble cast has grown with characters such as handlers Teddi (Robin Weigert) and Velma (Abby McEnany), hacker Bobby (Eric Graise) and attorney Reenie (Fiona Rene).

The procedural’s case of the weak format means the show is always introducing new faces. Fans were surprised when executive producer Elwood Reid hinted at an onscreen reconfiguration before season 3.

“I don’t want the show to be phone-a-friend every week. I think that gets old, and Justin is always challenging me on that. He’s like, ‘Do we need to do this? Do I need to call Bobby all the time? Can I do this?’” Reid exclusively told Us in May 2025. “You don’t [always] see Reenie. He talks to Velma for two seconds. He may talk to Bobby for one phone call. The show works because you are over Justin’s shoulder.”

Reid noted that they didn’t want Tracker to “fall into complacency.”

“The only rule I really have of the show is each week Colter is going to come to a new place and there’s going to be a new case. How he gets those answers and what he uses on the team, that’s all something that’s up for grabs,” Reid teased. “Meeting these [local] weird characters is something we’re going to try to do more of as the season goes on. Just Colter coming in and interacting with other characters. That’s fun to see Justin flex those muscles with really good guest cast members.”

Weigert, McEnany and Graise have all left Tracker in the first two seasons. Hartley, 49, has still struck gold with a wide variety of guest stars who keep returning including Jensen Ackles, Hartley’s wife, Sofia Pernas, Melissa Roxburgh and Jennifer Morrison.

Season 3, which returns March 1, will introduce Kathleen Robertson and Mark Engelhardt in recurring roles. Robertson will play Maxine, who is described as “a successful attorney at a major firm looking to engage” Reenie in what “Maxine assures her is simply grunt work for an upcoming class action suit.” It quickly becomes clear, however, that “Maxine may have an entirely different game that she’s playing.”

Engelhardt, meanwhile, will play Emile Lang, who is “a man with his own moral code.” The newcomer is “cold, calculating and methodical,” per his character description.

Tracker returns to CBS Sunday, March 1, at 9 p.m. ET.
