Protester hit by vehicle outside federal building in downtown Los Angeles, police say

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES () — A car hit a protester outside the federal building in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday.

The car was driving southbound on Alameda Street when it hit the person shortly before 9:30 p.m., according to Los Angeles police.

The victim was transported to the hospital, but details on their condition were not immediately available.

There was a small group of protesters outside the federal building at the time, according to LAPD.

The Department of Homeland Security told LAPD they are familiar with the protester who was hit.

The driver remained at the scene and was later taken to a nearby police station for questioning.
