New soccer park in Gulfton opens to community

HOUSTON, Texas — As FIFA World Cup matches get underway in Houston, one neighborhood is already benefiting from the global spotlight.

The new Visa Street Soccer Park is now open in Gulfton, featuring two professional-grade mini soccer pitches. The two mini-turf fields are free and open to the community to use.

Houston reVision, a non-profit dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk youth, will manage the park’s operations and host clinics, tournaments and coaching/referee training.

“There’s nothing like this in Houston,” said Charles Rotramel, CEO of Houston reVision. “This facility is very unique in the sense that its open to the public. It’s here for the community. It’s built on a very specific footprint that came from Germany.”
