WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. () — Actor Keegan Allen posted an update on his recovery Saturday, two days after he said he was attacked and robbed at gunpoint in West Hollywood.
“Healing. Will update more soon,” the “Pretty Little Liars” star wrote in the caption of a photo posted on social media, which appeared to show several stitches above his left eye. He thanked the medical team that treated him, “and law enforcement and everyone reaching out.”
The post followed a dramatic video that Keegan shared Thursday on Instagram. He seemed to be bloodied and out of breath in the clip as he explained what allegedly transpired.
“I was just robbed of my watch,” Allen said, adding that the incident took place outside the Laurel Supply grocery store.
He continued, “These two dudes hit me in the head, pointed a gun at me with a knife, and then took off.”
Allen’s post also included apparent surveillance video showing the incident.
In the video, part of Allen’s face is bloodied, from his forehead down his face and neck, with blood appearing on his hand as well.
“West Hollywood is not safe anymore. Robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint by two young men that threatened to KILL me over my watch and would have! God said no tonight. My life for a watch,” wrote Allen in his social media post.
Speaking about the incident later, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department official noted that robberies have been declining in the area.
“Is it the norm in the city of West Hollywood? I’ve been speaking to their captain all morning. In regards to robberies, they’re actually down about 20% in that area,” sheriff’s Capt. Calvin Mah told 7. “It’s a shocking crime. People are just going to the market and they’re robbed of their valuables.”
