POMONA, Calif. () — A suspect who was fleeing from police in Pomona crashed into another car, killing the two people who were inside, authorities confirmed.
The deadly incident stemmed from a domestic violence call on E. Tenth Street around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Pomona Police Department.
Officers were speaking with the victim when they say the suspect returned in a truck and intentionally rammed a parked patrol vehicle.
That kicked off a chase that ended when the suspect crashed into another car at Garey Avenue and County Road near the 60 Freeway.
Both occupants of that vehicle died at the scene. Neither of them have been identified.
Video from the scene showed debris scattered across the street including a baby car seat. A mangled car partially covered by a white sheet was also seen on the sidewalk.
Marshall Judson, 31, was taken into custody. Police said they found a “firearm and miscellaneous firearm components” in his car. Judson also did not have a valid driver’s license, they added.
He’s facing charges of vehicular manslaughter, assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, driving under the influence, driving without a valid license, felony evasion, and firearm-related charges.
