2 dead, 3 injured: Suspect arrested after two Carrollton shootings tied to business dispute, police say

Two people were killed and three others were injured in a pair of shootings Tuesday morning in Carrollton that police say stemmed from a business dispute.

Seung Han Ho, 69, has been arrested in connection with the shootings, Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo said.

Carrollton police and fire first responded at 9:57 a.m. to the 4000 block of State Highway 121 at K Towne Plaza, where officers found four adults with gunshot wounds. One man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the victims were meeting with the suspect for a business matter when gunfire erupted inside Gwang Jang Korean Market.

At 11:13 a.m., officers were called to a second shooting in Carrollton’s Koreatown, near I‑35 and the George Bush Turnpike, in the 2700 block of Old Denton Road. Police found a second deceased adult male inside an apartment.

Investigators later determined both shootings were carried out by the same suspect.

Detectives who interviewed Han Ho say he confessed to shooting all five victims and that he was angry “due to financial disagreements related to their business dealings.”

Businesses closed as police swarmed area

Investigators were seen walking in and out of the market, which appears to be where the shooting happened.

Several nearby businesses were forced to close, and some employees were told to shelter in place.

“All we saw, most of all, was just ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars flying down the street. We hear the sirens,” said Richard Gossman, who works across the street. “First thing we heard was just sirens, and then we were all just looking out, trying to see what’s going on, but we can’t see anything. So, they’ve got most of it contained, but we just see a bunch of cops across the street. It’s usually a pretty quiet area.”

CBS Texas Chopper video showed a large law enforcement response involving multiple agencies, including Carrollton police and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Community shaken as investigation continues

Members of the local Korean community said they were shaken by the violence, describing the area as a close‑knit community.

“The city of Carrolton and our partner agencies extend our deepest heartfelt condolences to the families of those who have perished, we continue to lift up and have healing ahead of them,” Arredondo said.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing, with assistance from the FBI and Texas Department of Public Safety.
