This food is clucking amazing.
Zaxbys continues its poultry offensive against competitors Popeyes, Raising Cane’s and Chick-fil-A with the rollout of two new menu items — one sweet, one savory — just in time for the holiday travel rush.
The move comes as Zaxbys tries to expand its New York City presence with an Upper East Side location at 1267 First Avenue. The Upper East Side location is the second Zaxbys outpost in the city, following a Bronx opening earlier this summer.
In the spicy category, the Georgia-born fast food hub has introduced its Honey Chipotle Sauce, made with honey, brown sugar, red chili and chipotle peppers. The chain describes the condiment as “equal parts naughty and nice.”
For dessert, Zaxbys rolls out a Peppermint Cookies & Cream Shake, which is hand-spun and topped with cookies & cream pieces.
Zax Rewardz members got access to the new treats on October 26 through the Zaxbys App and third-party delivery.
Fast food plebes will be able to get their fix beginning November 2, available at all of Zaxbys 1,000+ locations across 24 states.
Besides being delicious, the holiday menu additions might be snackable shots across Zaxbys’ bough.
Food writer Kenn C. Bivens describes the new milkshake as a direct hit at Chick-fil-A, which has long offered their signature Peppermint Chip Shake during the holidays.
A disgruntled Chik-fil-A employee even started a Reddit thread to air their grievances about the alleged imitation.

Meanwhile, the rivalry between Zaxbys and Louisiana-based Raising Cane’s—often dubbed the “Chicken Tender War”—is one of fast food’s most intense battles.
Many a content creator has made their mark (and their money) by comparing the two.
A recent Reddit thread was titled simply “Zaxbys is better and I’ll die on that hill.”
Even New York isn’t immune to the fried chicken wars:
This month, Zaxbys planted its internet-famous sauce vending machine, aka “the Zax Machine,” outside of a Manhattan Raising Cane’s on Astor Place.
