Woman found shot to death on Tustin street; search underway for gunman

TUSTIN, Calif. () — A 42-year-old woman was shot and killed in Tustin, triggering a search for the person responsible.

Officers responded to multiple calls about gunshots near 17 and Yorba streets just after 6 p.m. Thursday, according to the Tustin Police Department. When they arrived, they found the woman shot dead behind a small white SUV.

Witnesses reported seeing a man wearing all black running from the scene and then driving off in a dark-colored older model sedan.

Detectives are now looking for surveillance video to see if they can identify him, or figure out what led to the shooting.

The police department believes the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (714) 426-2427.
