All Elite Wrestling star Benjamin Satterley (a.k.a. Pac) had hopeful plans on the horizon before his sudden death last month, according to his widow, Natalie Satterley.
“The cruelty of having all of our future hopes and dreams snatched away will never feel real,” Natalie wrote via Instagram on Monday, October 12. “You were so excited to get home to us, you were going to shoot hoops all week with your best mates, we were going to set up your new home gym and take [dog Wolfie] for some autumnal walks, have pizza at Rudy’s on your cheat day, go to the match, see [comedian] Sam Campbell live.”
She continued, “We’re all just waiting for you to walk through the door again darling, and the idea that will never happen is beyond comprehension.”
Benjamin was pronounced dead on September 27 after his body was found behind the wheel of a rental car in a Des Plaines, Illinois, parking lot. He was 40. A cause of death has not been revealed.
“I can’t believe it’s been over two weeks already since we last spoke, I can’t believe I’m making this post,” Natalie said. “We will try our hardest to get through this nightmare and look after each other as I know that’s what you would want, but we will miss you every minute, of every hour, of every day. Love you eternally pet ❤️.”
Natalie and Benjamin were together for 19 years, 11 of which they spent married.
When authorities arrived on the scene of Benjamin’s death, they “did not find any injuries or suspicious markings on him besides what appeared to be saliva on the front of his shirt,” according to a report from the Des Plaines Police Department obtained by Us on October 5.
An autopsy was performed on Benjamin’s body the same day it was found. Results of the autopsy are expected to take “several weeks,” the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office told Us on September 28.
Benjamin’s family broke their silence about his death with a statement read by AEW on-air personality Renee Paquette during an episode of Dynamite on September 30.
“We are completely devastated to have lost our beautiful Ben,” the family said. “But the love and support that we have received from every corner of the globe has been helping us get through these last few awful days. Whilst he will always have a legacy as one of the greatest wrestlers the U.K. has ever produced, we have been so glad to see so many wonderful tributes that acknowledged who Ben was as a person.”
The statement added, “Thank you to all of Ben’s fans for their support over the years. We send you our love and have been so moved to see so many people saying so many wonderful things about his impact on their lives, whether great or small. We will love you forever, Ben, and our lives will never be the same without you. Thank you, the Satterley family.”
