The show must go on — even when your teeth fall out.
A pageant queen lost her chompers — but not her composure — during the Miss Grand Thailand 2026 preliminaries in Bangkok this week.
In the video footage, 18-year-old Kamolwan Chanago is seen confidently introducing herself on stage — before mumbling her words when her false teeth visibly dislodge in her mouth.
The event was being live-streamed on the GrandTV YouTube channel, leaving the contestant without the opportunity to cut and restart her speech.
Despite the molar malfunction, Chanago remained the picture of professionalism.
In the video, the beauty briefly turned to the side to either reposition or remove her grill — then boldly served face and fully intact teeth to the camera, walking across the stage with her feathered cape flowing and her sequined gown glinting.
Chanago continued to work the room, twirling for the crowd and posing before sauntering off stage.
A spokesperson for Miss Grand International told PEOPLE, “During her on-stage introduction, Kamolwan Chanago experienced a minor and unexpected incident in which her veneer teeth became dislodged.”
They continued, “She handled the situation with professionalism and composure, and the event continued smoothly without disruption. We are proud of her confidence and stage presence throughout the competition.”
Her recovery was met with thunderous applause, while the footage has gone viral on social media with a chorus of admirers praising Chanago for her poise.
“That level of composure under pressure deserves respect,” said one commentator.
“SHE LOCKED TF INNNN,” and “That face card was lethal” chimed others.
“She should win the pageant for displaying such poise during what could also have been a medical emergency had she swallowed them or they fell and she tripped on them,” argued another.
Other online spectators took a more critical approach.
“Should have been using Fixodent…..,” was an unsolicited recommendation, while one hater deemed the calamity, “Miss Temu Teeth World,” and yet another deadpanned, “Momma always said, ’ Don’t talk when your mouth is full.’”
Others still are debating whether Chanago was indeed rocking (and rocking loose) veneers, partials, dentures, or a “flipper,” a clip-in dental accessory common among American pageant kids.
It remains to be seen whether this fanfare will translate into pageant glory; the winner of Miss Grand Thailand will be named on Saturday, and whoever takes the title will go on to represent Thailand at Miss Grand International 2026 in India in October.
