Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was full of team spirit for another major sports franchise on a solo night out.
The NFL star, 37, rocked a red Nike Cleveland Guardians jersey and a navy cap emblazoned with the team’s logo while watching their Game 5 showdown in the American League Division Series against the Chicago White Sox on Saturday, October 10. (Kelce had some free time this weekend as the Chiefs are on a bye week.)
An appearance from Kelce at Progressive Field may have given the Guardians a boost, as the team ultimately toppled the White Sox 2-0 to win the series. Saturday’s victory propelled the Guardians into the American League Championship Series for the second time in three years.
The Guardians now move on to face the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the ALCS at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Monday, October 12.

Kelce wasn’t the only famous Cleveland resident at Progressive Field on Saturday night — Cavaliers shooting guard Donovan Mitchell was also in attendance to root for the hometown team.
Kelce has a business interest in the Guardians’ postseason success, as he became a minority owner of the squad earlier this year. His involvement in the Guardians’ ownership was a full-circle accomplishment for Kelce, as he was a self-professed “die-hard fan” of the team while growing up in the Cleveland area.
“I have so much love for this city,” Kelce told ESPN in March. “I say it all the time: I’m just a kid from the Heights living the dream. I credit every good thing in my life to Cleveland and being raised here with the values and the people and the work ethic. Cleveland Heights is such a diverse and dynamic place.”
The athlete went on to say, “Every friend, neighbor, teacher and teammate — they all made me the man I am today. It just fueled such a deep appreciation for life and community and service. That mentality of Cleveland against the world runs deep.”

At the time, Kelce tipped his hat to the Kansas City Chiefs’ owners, the Hunt family, telling the outlet that he’d been “lucky enough to have a front-row seat to good ownership in my career” in the NFL.
“I know the best teams prioritize culture,” he added. “Everyone is there to play their role, and right now, I’m here to observe and learn and really to support the team and the city when and where I can.”
Cleveland is certainly having a pop culture moment this fall. In September, Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift, shouted out his hometown on the song “Cleveland,” from the expanded version of her record-breaking 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl.
“I guess there’s something we all can agree on / But my baby likes what he likes,” Swift sings in the “Cleveland” chorus. “He already took me to Cleveland / And showed me The Heights, so hate all you like / This is the love of my life.”

During a September 30 episode of his “New Heights” podcast, Travis and his brother Jason Kelce gave Swift’s ode to Cleveland their stamp of approval.
“Cleveland is rocking right now,” Kelce told listeners. “Shout-out to Tay Tay for making that song.”
His brother Jason, 38, chimed in, saying, “Dude, that song is incredible. [My wife] Kylie [Kelce] and I have been listening to it so much. There’s just something about it [that] makes you feel really good.”
The Chiefs return to action on Sunday, October 18, when they host the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.
