The ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ season 18 trailer shows an outrageous wedding and non-alcoholic beer at the bar!

The cast of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is back and ready for another summer of shenanigans in season 18.

FX released a new trailer for the series, which stars Charlie Day, Rob Mac, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito.

When we left the gang at the end of season 17, Frank (DeVito) was ready to marry his choice from “The Golden Bachelor,” Samantha (Carol Kane). In the trailer, seen in the video player above, Dee (Olson) is with Samantha, telling her, “I thought it would be great for you to see the kind of people you’re gonna be hanging out with once you marry Frank.”

And it would seem the wedding would move forward without a hitch.

But, plot twist.

Dennis (Howerton) says, “The last thing we need is for this wedding to come off as some kind of funeral.”

Cut to Charlie (Day) singing “she’s dead!” as Dee seemingly pulls a “Weekend At Bernies,” walking a probably dead Samantha down the aisle! And the attendees groan as they see Frank kiss Samantha.

The trailer also shows the gang hanging out at a renaissance fair and a vendor bringing (gasp!) non-alcoholic beer into Paddy’s! Dee chases that guy right outta the bar, of course.

The network’s description could give some other clues as to what we can expect in this super-sized season (we’ll see ten episodes instead of eight).

It says the gang is “wrapped up in salvaging inheritances from a dead woman, surviving tent encampments and the great inside-outside divide between the haves and have-nots, withstanding job loss at the hands of workplace automation, embracing a newfound appreciation for neurodivergence, questioning the fabric of society against conspiracy theories, and of course – the biggest elephant in the room – outlasting the public’s pendulum swing against drinking. Not to mention battling nerds, LARPers, and a particularly petulant McPoyle clan at the Renaissance Faire or sportswashing their way back into the good graces of their community by sponsoring a Little League team. All the while trying to maintain order in their personal lives and at Paddy’s, which have become increasingly lawless and erratic.”

The “Sunny” gang also promises its “most outrageous moments and star cameos yet.”

The first two episodes of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” season 18 premiere August 17 on FXX, FX and Hulu.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of FX, FXX, Hulu and this station.
