Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry is ready to spoil her 16-year-old son, Elliott Rivera, with a special gift.
“How is he old enough to be driving? 🥺” Lowry, 33, asked her followers via Instagram on Sunday, February 1, alongside a video of the moment she surprised her oldest child with a car. “Watch the full video tonight at 8PM EST at Patreon.com/kaillowry 🤍 .”
In a sneak peek of the big reveal, Elliott looked visibly shocked to be receiving the keys to a fresh new ride.
“There are surprises inside the car. Go inside the driver’s seat because you’re a driver,” Lowry told Elliott before highlighting some of his bonus gifts. “This has all the emergency supplies if you get into an accident or need to scrape ice off your car. If you need First Aid, that’s all here. And then in the summertime, when it gets hot, you can put this in your windshield so the car doesn’t get hot inside. I hope you love it. This is your car!”
Soon after sharing the moment on social media, Lowry received supportive messages from her Teen Mom family.
“We really broke the cycle Kail 🥹😭,” Teen Mom’s Tyler Baltierra wrote in the comments section. “I’m so proud of you & happy birthday to @isaacelliottr I love this! 👏🫶.”
Ashley Siren added, “And make sure your friends always give you gas money 💰 😂 jk , happy birthday 🎈🎂 .”
For curious fans hoping to learn the exact make and model of Elliott’s new gift, Lowry said she isn’t ready to share all the details just yet.

“Hi!” she wrote in the comments section. “Just wanted to pop in here & say we are not showing the entire car for Elliott’s safety and privacy ❤.”
Fans met Lowry when she was featured on the second season of MTV’s 16 and Pregnant in April 2010. At the time, the episode documented her pregnancy journey with her then-boyfriend Jo Rivera.
She later starred in the spin-off series Teen Mom 2 for 11 years before announcing in May 2022 that she was leaving the franchise to pursue other opportunities.
“I think I need to move on,” she told co-hosts Dr. Drew Pinsky and Nessa during the Teen Mom 2 reunion. “I think I need to do my own thing. I think this needs to be my farewell. I think I’m ready.”
Since then, Lowry has continued to update fans on her family’s life via social media and her various podcasts.
In June 2025, Elliott made news of his own when he appeared on an episode of the “Barely Famous” podcast and opened up about his sexuality.
“This is for me, and I’ve built up the courage over time to make it known and let me have my moment,” he shared, confirming he is gay. “I’m really sick of people coming up with their own stories and putting things in their own words.”
Elliott — who was born Isaac Rivera — added, “I’m here today to show you who I am — not who you saw on TV for 12 years of my life.”
