Suspect in Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home shooting held on million bail

The Los Angeles Police Department has identified the woman arrested for allegedly firing several shots at the Beverly Hills home of pop music star Rihanna.

The LAPD identified the woman as 35-year-old Ivanna Ortiz. She has been booked for attempted murder and her bail has been set at $10.225 million. A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to the Beverly Crest neighborhood home around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday after receiving reports that shots were being fired, the LAPD said.

On Monday, LAPD officers told CBS LA that three people were home when the shooting happened, but did not clarify if Rihanna, her partner or her three children were home.

Ivanna Ortiz, the 35-year-old Florida woman who allegedly fired several shots at the Beverly Hills area home belonging to pop singer Rihanna on March, 8, 2026.

Orange County, Florida Corrections

Police allege that Ortiz parked her car outside the home and fired seven gunshots before speeding away. Her vehicle was located about eight miles away from the singer’s home, at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping Center. She was taken into custody.

No injuries were reported during the incident. The LAPD recovered the weapon used during the shooting. They also said that seven “assault rifle casings” were found at the home.

Aerial footage of the home on Sunday showed multiple gunshot holes in the gate outside the home.

LAPD officers said that their thorough investigation would include a look at Ortiz’s social media history. In a series of strange posts, she can be heard mentioning Rihanna, and in one post on X, she mentioned the singer and said, “Are you there? … say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me where I’m not at.”

In other posts, Ortiz says that Rihanna did “her little music thing so she can do witchcraft” and that Rihanna “wants to kill me.”

Court records show that Ortiz was arrested for domestic violence in 2023. She also recently sought an injunction to block a Billie Eilish concert in Florida.

CBS LA has not yet heard back after reaching out to an attorney that Ortiz said represents her in a YouTube video, as well as her family, for statement on the incident.

Rihanna, 38, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, rose to fame in the early 2000s with mega-hits like “Pon de Replay” and “Umbrella.” Since then, she has expanded her musical career into a business empire under her Fenty brand. She has started her own cosmetics, fashion and lingerie lines. She has been with her partner, rapper ASAP Rocky, since 2020, and they share two sons and a daughter.
