INDIO, Calif. () — The Stagecoach Country Music Festival was temporarily postponed and evacuated on Saturday due to high winds.
Photos from inside the festival showed an emergency evacuation warning on the stage screens that read: “The festival has been postponed until further notice. Please move quickly and calmly to the nearest exit.”
A Wind Advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. Sunday in Coachella Valley, with winds between 25 and 35 mph, plus gusts between 50 mph and 65 mph expected.
In posts on social media, Stagecoach said the festival would resume, and it was working to prepare the site for attendees’ safety.
Then, around 9:30 p.m., the venue festival shared updated set times with the caption, “Back in the saddle.”
Lainey Wilson, who is set to headline on Saturday, said, “These crazy winds ain’t gonna stop us. I’ll see you on stage at 10:30pm. Let’s get fired up!!”
The three-day, all-ages event runs through Sunday at the Empire Polo Club, 81800 51st Ave.
Saturday’s lineup also featured Journey, Little Big Town, Bush, Teddy Swims, Chase Matthew, Lane Pittman and Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters.
Post Malone is scheduled to close out the festival on Sunday. Each headliner is set to perform at 9:30 p.m. on the Mane Stage.
Additional performers across the Mane, Palomino, Bud Light and Mustang stages include Bailey Zimmerman, Chase Rice, Riley Green, Brooks & Dunn, Brett Young, Wyatt Flores, Amos Lee and Hootie & the Blowfish.
