That’s beyond creepy.
Nothing is worse than the excitement of moving into a home quickly diminishing as soon as you realize it might be haunted. Unfortunately, this has happened quite often to many new homeowners.
One millennial couple quickly discovered that they might be living amongst ghosts after finding a letter from a member of the previous family who owned the 132-year-old property.
In a letter addressed to “purchaser” found hidden in their home, Courtney and Matt were shocked to read the creepy words: “Let me introduce myself. I am the last surviving member of the Madison family who once owned the house, and I grew up in it.”
“I would like to pass on a brief history of the family and tell you about the secret rooms and a few things you may not have been told when you bought the house,” Courtney read in a TikTok.
The letter quickly put the couple on a creepy scavenger hunt, allowing them to discover things they had no idea existed in the newly purchased historic home, like a hidden liquor cabinet behind a mirrored panel above the front parlor’s fireplace or a secret spot in the bathroom that resembled a cramped attic space.
And this young couple isn’t alone.
Another homeowner’s recent discovery under the floor of their 250-year-old home sent chills down their spine.
After noticing that one of her floorboards had nothing holding it in place, she peeked underneath to discover an ornate book filled with pictures of empty rooms in the home.
Talk about an unsettling feeling.
Another disturbing discovery for a couple was a spooky underground shelter outside in the yard of their newly purchased house.
“The house was in great shape. It was the best I had seen that whole weekend, but there was just one catch: It had a creepy bomb shelter,” a 34-year-old man named Kyle told Newsweek, after sharing his creepy finding on Reddit.
“I didn’t go down that day, as you can imagine,” he wrote on Reddit. “We were afraid to go down. We finally got the nerve up and went down. Alas, there were no chains hanging from the ceiling.”
