While Ben Affleck may not remember meeting Lisa Barlow, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star has come armed with receipts, proof and timelines to corroborate her statement.
“SXSW [for] The Accountant 2,” Barlow, 51, wrote via Instagram comment on Friday, January 16, referring to Affleck’s movie premiere at the Austin, Texas, festival in March 2025. “And it was a great movie and party.”
Barlow previously claimed that she missed RHOSLC costar Angie Katsanevas’ girls trip because of her feud with Bronwyn Newport and other work obligations.
“I don’t want to spend the night with Bronwyn. She’s a pathological liar. She can’t tell the truth to save her life. It’s like, disgusting,” Barlow said in a season 6 episode. “Also, I have a work thing. It’s like, a big deal.”
She continued, “I think what people forget is I have a very full life because I keep it kinda private. And, like, I’m not gonna drop names, but like, I’ll be with Ben and Blake [Lively].”
Barlow added, “I’ll be with Ben Affleck and you’ll be with Bronwyn.”
While speaking with Access, Affleck, 53, was asked about Barlow’s excuse — though he had no recollection of meeting the Bravolebrity.
“I don’t want to get anybody in trouble or — I don’t know what this is — [was it at] an event in Salt Lake City? Like, prove somebody right or wrong?” the Rip star said on Friday. “I haven’t been in Utah in, maybe, 8, 9 or 10 years, I don’t know. It doesn’t look familiar to me and I don’t remember anything.”
Affleck continued, “I don’t want to embarrass her because I say hi to a lot of people. I don’t want to be the jerk who is like, ‘I did meet you.’ You don’t remember everyone you meet.”
Affleck further stressed that he didn’t think that he was “qualified to weigh in” on the supposed “raging controversy” between the RHOSLC ladies.
Barlow has been one of the OG Housewives in Salt Lake City since the franchise premiered in 2020, often showcasing her love for designer fashion and her glamorous life. Barlow’s business holdings and financial dealings, however, have often raised eyebrows from her costars.
“I don’t spend another man’s money. In fact, I make my own money. I don’t need to spend another man’s money,” Barlow exclusively revealed during the cast’s Us Weekly cover story last year. “I’ve owned multiple businesses across multiple platforms, and they all work together. I don’t need to spend another man’s money. My husband’s an amazing provider. I am an amazing provider, and I don’t need to spend anybody else’s money.”
Lisa and her husband, John Barlow, have been married since 2003 and share two sons. The cast, meanwhile, continually questioned in both season 5 and 6 whether the couple were being sued by multiple business associates.
“I’ve only had civil cases, and we own a lot of businesses, and we’ve been doing it for a very long time. Litigation is part of it,” Lisa told Us, denying the claims. “Sometimes people think allegations are evidence. Allegations are what you do in a lawsuit. You throw everything in and the kitchen sink. You allege anything and everything you can think of, especially when you have a case where you don’t have a document.”
