Rescuers save woman stranded on top of car in flooded Las Vegas street amid Tropical Storm Rachel rainfall

LAS VEGAS () — California isn’t the only state dealing with flooding due to Tropical Storm Rachel.

Dramatic video out of Las Vegas shows a woman stranded on top of her car as fast-moving floodwaters rise around her.

Rescue crews can be seen making their way to the woman and guiding her to safety.

The footage also shows other vehicles partially submerged, with debris rushing through the water.

Heavy rain from the remnants of Tropical Storm Rachel triggered widespread flooding across the area and prompted dozens of rescue calls.

Another video shows floodwaters surging along the Vegas Strip on Sunday. The streets looked like rivers after Rachel drenched the desert with more than an inch of rain, breaking the city’s previous rainfall record for Oct. 11.
