On Tuesday night, fresh off her wildly successful Daisy Chains Festival, star Olivia Rodrigo gave an intimate performance at the Grammy Museum, as she celebrated the opening of the new exhibit, “Olivia Rodrigo: the cure unraveled.”
The exhibit showcases the artistry of her “the cure” music video, a song from her third and most recent album, “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.” “the cure” has a unique style, taking place in a handmade hospital, featuring miniatures, animatronic heart puppets and stop-motion animation. The video was directed by Cat Solen and Jaime Gerin, and production design was by Liam Moore.
Fans can see Rodrigo’s nurse costume, the original props, handmade sets and storyboards that created the visually distinctive video. There is also behind-the-scenes photography and interactive photo opportunities at the exhibit.
Attendees also had a first look at the exhibit, before it opens Sept. 2. An expansion to the exhibit will come early fall 2026. It will run through Feb. 22.
Olivia said, “I grew up going to the Grammy Museum, and their mission is especially important to me, so it’s a full circle moment to be able to work with them on this exhibit. It’s the perfect place to feature ‘the cure’ music video pieces that mean so much to me, as well as some incredibly special items from the past decade that we’re later adding that I’ve never shown before. I can’t wait for you all to see them in person!”
On The Red Carpet spoke with Grammy Museum curator Kelsey Goelz, who told us this about Rodrigo, “It’s been so cool to have her here. She grew up coming here as a student, as a home-schooled student. So, a really full circle moment to see her get inspired by this place, and also be inspiring to the people who love her.”
Goelz also explained, “It’s this really special moment to not only see the hand-crafted work up close, but also to, you know, do a little, pretending you’re Olivia. Get your photos in the music video, maybe sing along. You know, you can also see all the different props from the video that were made by hand, by artists up close. We really love to look at the creative process, so we get to see Olivia’s process and all these amazing contributors.”
