LA PUENTE, Calif. () — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a minivan Thursday morning at an intersection in La Puente, authorities said.
The crash was reported about 5:45 a.m. at the intersection of East Amar Road and North Evanwood Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and was not immediately identified, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol said. Whether the driver of the van was injured was unknown.

Neighbors told Eyewitness News that the driver of the minivan was an undercover officer with the Alhambra Police Department.
Eyewitness News contacted Alhambra police seeking information about why the agency was in the area.
Aerial video from AIR7 showed a black tent of the kind used to shield a body from public view at the site of the wreckage.
The motorcycle was toppled onto its side in the collision, and was seen near the front left tire of the black vehicle in the middle of the intersection.
Significant damage was visible on the left side of the minivan. Whether that damage occurred during the crash was unclear.
The cause of the collision was under investigation.
