The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Miranda McWhorter is weighing in on who might have released footage from Taylor Frankie Paul’s domestic violence incident with ex Dakota Mortensen.
In an Instagram video, influencer Dana Bowling speculated that one of Taylor’s Mormon Wives costars released the video to TMZ and pointed fingers at Miranda, who she alleged has been “emotionally attacked” by Taylor “multiple times.” Dana further noted that Miranda was “one of the first ones” who spoke out about the video on social media.
Miranda, for her part, denied the speculation in the comments section, writing, “Haha the first time i saw that video was the same day you all did. none of us girls have ever been in possession of it or any other evidence. my intent with my statement was not to shade taylor, but to simply address that I do not support nor condone that behavior from either party.”
Miranda noted that she and Taylor “have been in a good place” since Taylor “apologized” for drama with Shinia Powell and Chase McWhorter, which was documented on season 4 of Mormon Wives.
“i have my theories on who leaked the video, but i can promise you it wasn’t any of the women🫶🏼,” Miranda concluded.
Days earlier, TMZ released footage of Taylor physically assaulting and throwing multiple chairs at Dakota in a 2023 incident. Taylor’s daughter, Indy, can be heard crying in the background of the video. (Taylor shares Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul. She’s also mom of son Ever, 2, whom she welcomed with Dakota in 2024.)
The incident led to Taylor’s 2023 arrest, where she was where she was charged with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury and criminal mischief after the incident. She ultimately pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. The other four charges were dismissed with prejudice, and she later reached a plea deal.
ABC later announced on Thursday, March 19, that they had canceled season 22 of The Bachelorette — which was set to star Taylor and 22 suitors. A rep for Taylor later told Us in a statement on Thursday that she is “very grateful for ABC’s support” while she “prioritizes her family’s safety and security.”

“After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm,” the rep said.
The statement continued, “There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support and preparing to own and share her story.”
Dakota, meanwhile, broke his silence in a separate statement on Thursday. He has also since been granted a temporary protective order against Taylor and given temporary custody of their son, per documents obtained by Us.
“As anyone who has seen the video will understand, this is a deeply upsetting situation,” Dakota said at the time. “I am, unfortunately, used to these baseless claims about me and our relationship, which I categorically deny. I am focusing on our son and his safety and hope that Taylor will do the same.”

Miranda, for her part, addressed the incident in a statement condemning domestic violence.
“I’ve honestly been a little at a loss for words trying to process this all,” Miranda wrote. “Everything has been really heavy to see. Domestic violence and abuse of any kind is something I take very seriously.”
She continued, “As a human, and especially a mother, I cannot support that kind of behavior. My heart is with the children in this and I hope they’re safe, supported and surrounded by love.”
