McDonald’s ‘biggest’ half-pound burger ever and calorie bomb is finally coming to the US — here’s when and how much it will cost

Holy cow! McDonald’s biggest burger ever is finally coming to the US.

The fast-food chain revealed that the Big Arch Burger will be landing on Tuesday, March 3 — and they’re calling it their “most McDonald’s, McDonald’s burger” yet, per the McDonald’s Menu Spotter.

The burger, available for a limited time, is “a love letter to fans who simply can’t get enough,” featuring two quarter-pound beef patties, three slices of melted white cheddar cheese, crispy onions, slivered raw onions, lettuce, pickles and Big Arch Sauce.

Big Arch Sauce is described as “a tangy, creamy sauce with a perfect balance of mustard, pickle and sweet tomato flavors.”

The new burger first garnered cult fandom across Canadian and European markets in 2024 and was eventually added to the permanent menu in the UK and Ireland.

Weighing in at 14 ounces total — compared to the total 3.5 ounces of a standard burger — the Big Arch Burger is the chain’s biggest burger.

And with a big burger comes big calories and a big price.

The new Big Arch Burger consists of 1,020 calories, according to the McDonald’s website.

For comparison, that’s nearly the amount of a complete Big Mac Meal, including both fries and a medium Coke, which comes out to 1,170 calories.

The high-calorie Big Arch also has 53 grams of protein, 59 grams of total carbs, 65 grams of total fat, 3 grams of fiber and 175mg of cholesterol.

The Big Arch Burger has already appeared on the mobile app menu for some people, and it comes with a hefty price tag.

In screenshots posted to social media, the price seems to range from $7.59 to $9.29 for the burger alone, and a combo meal with fries and soda will range from $11.09 to $14.29.

Costs will vary by location since McDonald’s franchise owners set their own prices, but fans on Reddit are not happy about it.

“Those are sit-down restaurant prices,” one person said.

“I don’t care if the sandwich is the second coming of Christ, at that price point you open yourself up to a vast array of options, all of which are a much better value,” someone commented.

“Almost 10 dollars for a McD’s burger is an absolute no-no,” another wrote. “Anything above 5 and I’m taking my money to an actual burger spot for the same price.”

“$9.29 for a single McItem? They’re dreaming,” a user added.

“$15 for the meal, and if you get it delivered, it’s guaranteed to be cold. No thanks. I’m done with McDonald’s,” one declared.

“At this point, these fast food places are more expensive than any sit-down restaurant. But until everyone speaks with their wallet, they will keep pushing,” someone noted.

The Post has reached out to McDonald’s for further pricing information.

But even with the high prices, social media users who have already tried the coveted burger — mostly abroad or from the international menu at McD’s HQ in Chicago — are satisfied with it.

The Big Arch Burger has a whopping 1,020 calories. McDonald’s

“I tried it last year. Probably had it 10 times. Painful to say but it’s better than the Big Mac,” one Reddit user said.

“I had the big arch when it first dropped in Portugal,” someone on Instagram claimed. “Had it 3 times in the week I was there. Been hyping it up for a year and a half, can not wait to eat it again.”

“Had this in Ireland and it was massive, hopefully it’s the same in the US, it was worth every penny there,” said another fan abroad.

“The Big Arch, available at McDonald’s in France, puts the US restaurants to shame,” wrote one characteristically smug French customer.

Fans who managed to find the Big Arch already at their McDonald’s locations shared their reviews ahead of the official release.

One lucky NYC-based TikTokker shared his review, noting that it tastes like a “really good Big Mac, like a better version of the Big Mac,” but the sauce is more “tomatoe-y” compared to the Big Mac. He said the meal at his location cost $12.50.

YouTuber PapiEats in North Carolina agreed that it’s “really good” and touted the combo of the cheese, crispy onion and the bun. His burger alone cost him $8.

“Compared to what you pay for something like this at some other places, that’s pretty reasonable I think,” he said.
