Max Fire: Stevenson Ranch brush fire threatening homes, evacuation order issued

STEVENSON RANCH, Calif. () — A brush fire in Stevenson Ranch is threatening homes and prompted an evacuation order late Monday afternoon.

The blaze, dubbed the Max Fire, was reported at about 4:20 p.m. in the area of Magnolia Lane and Autumn Place, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The LAFD is also assisting in battling the blaze.

Amid hot temperatures, the blaze quickly grew from a quarter acre in size to 32 acres.

An evacuation order has been issued near Sagecrest Circle and Chicory Court.

Firefighters are battling the blaze from the air and ground.
