Standing out to recruiters in today’s competitive job market is no easy feat, but one job seeker has taken an ultra-unconventional route to ensure their application gets noticed.
An image of a half-printed resume featuring a cheeky pitch line has gone viral on Reddit, leaving internet users equal parts amused and thoroughly divided over whether it’s a stroke of personal branding genius or a total disaster.
The top half of the document appears like a fairly standard CV, featuring a partial headshot alongside a career objective outlining a desire “to be part of your company wherein I can enhance my skills and gain more knowledge.” It’s the epitome of Gen Z thinking.
However, instead of listing the usual work experience, education, and contact details, the page abruptly stops halfway down.
Printed across the blank lower section is just a single line: “Hire me to unlock my full potential.”
The clever design essentially turns a simple job application into a joke that captures the struggle of trying to get noticed.
Unsurprisingly, the post sparked hilarious reactions across Instagram, X and Reddit, with spectators quickly jumping in with their thoughts.
“Best resume I’ve seen so far,” one person commented on an X post with the laughing emoji.
“It has become essential to play hard to get,” a second user wrote.
“The most genuine CV ever because he’ll indeed need to unlock full potential,” a third shared.

Many people praised the man’s innovative thinking, calling it a “clever” and “creative” way to get an employer’s attention; many people said they would hire him if they received that resume.
“If I were a recruiter, I’d 100% be giving you a call for an interview,” one person commented on an Instagram post.
“I’d hire him on the spot. An innovator,” a second user chimed in.
However, pragmatic onlookers were quick to highlight the major flaw in the creative stunt: without any work history, skill sets, or actual contact details printed on the page, the resume would likely be filtered out instantly by automated applicant tracking systems. Not to mention the piece of paper didn’t have any contact information either.
Whether it’s an intentional creative experiment, clever personal branding, or simply a printer malfunction turned into a meme, the viral resume has achieved the one thing every applicant dreams of: getting everyone’s attention.
