EAST LOS ANGELES () — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found shot to death inside a pickup truck Tuesday morning in East Los Angeles.
Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 1400 block of South Woods Avenue around 7:30 a.m. after receiving a call about a person who had been shot.
The location of the fatal incident is an unincorporated area of East Los Angeles near the 5 Freeway.
When they arrived, they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound in the driver’s seat of the black truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck’s passenger side window was shattered by at least one bullet.
A neighbor told Eyewitness News that she heard the sirens early in the morning when sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene.
Another longtime resident said she recognized the pickup truck but didn’t know who it belonged to.
LASD detectives were at the scene investigating the shooting. No arrest shave been made and the search for a suspect is ongoing.
