Man Breaks Into Texas Apartment to Kidnap Ex-Girlfriend, Gun Down Her New Boyfriend

A man in Texas is facing multiple criminal charges after he was accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend at an apartment complex in Arlington where he shot her new boyfriend.

Aaron Webb was arrested in Fort Worth, Texas, on Tuesday, December 30. Police confirmed in a press release that he is currently being held in the Arlington City Jail without bail, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Officers were called to the residence on Forest Hills Drive in north Arlington around 11:10 p.m. after Webb, 25, had broken into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment.

Police said that after he was shot, the 29-year-old victim along with another woman and two children managed to escape the residence by climbing out a back window. However, Webb took his ex-girlfriend with him by forcing her into her own car and driving off with her.

After witnesses described the type of car he fled in, authorities were able to track down Webb and his ex-girlfriend through flock cameras. After they were found in Fort Worth, Webb was arrested soon after without incident and his gun was recovered. Police added that the ex-girlfriend sustained injuries to her face after Webb allegedly hit her while they were inside the vehicle. However, she managed to escape the situation largely unscathed.

The woman told investigators that she had moved to Arlington from out of state in an attempt to get away from Webb, according to the outlet. She said that he followed her to Arlington and kept calling and texting her despite her lack of interest in communicating with him.

It is not currently clear how long the former couple dated or how long ago they broke up. It is also not known when the ex-girlfriend moved to Texas. However, police did confirm that the suspect is originally from Mississippi. Authorities also revealed that he was recently staying at an apartment complex in Fort Worth prior to his arrest.

Webb was transported to the Arlington City Jail after his arrest. He has been charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury, one count of stalking, one count of unauthorized use of a vehicle, one count of aggravated kidnapping, three counts of deadly conduct, one count of aggravated assault family violence and one count of burglary of a habitation with intent to assault, according to police.

Police added that the injured man that Webb shot was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

The names of the victims have not been publicly released. It’s not currently clear how the other woman and two children know Webb’s ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.
