Officer heard Patrick Clancy yell “She killed the f—–g kids”

When Duxbury police officer Brian Josephine arrived at the Clancy house, he was standing near Lindsay Clancy, who was injured on the ground after jumping out the window.

That’s when he heard Patrick Clancy screaming from the basement after discovering his children.

Josephine and fellow officer Stephen Hall went into the home.

“Upon his observation of us, he proceeded in our direction and at that point he looked up and screamed ‘She killed the f—–g kids,'” Josephine said.

Josephine completed his testimony around 10:10 a.m. after about 20 minutes, and the defense did not ask any questions.

Officer Stephen Hall completes testimony

Duxbury police officer Stephen Hall indicated that it was a difficult scene for first responders.

He said at one point he went and found the fire captain to get a heart monitor.

“He was pretty upset, so I ended up going back to the basement,” Hall said.

After about 20 minutes, prosecutor Jennifer Sprague completed direct examination.

Defense attorney Kevin Reddington did not ask any questions on cross-examination, saying only “Thank you for your incredible service.”

Hall completed his testimony around 10:50 a.m.

Duxbury police officer recounts chaotic scene

When Duxbury police officer Stephen Hall arrived at the Clancy home on Jan. 24, 2023, he ran to the backyard and heard a male voice calling for help. It was Patrick Clancy, who was married to Lindsay Clancy at the time. The couple has since divorced.

“He was upset, he didn’t know what was going on,” Hall said.

Hall found Lindsay Clancy on the ground outside the home. She had cuts to both wrists and her neck and had jumped out the window.

“She sounded like she was in pain,” Hall said.

A short time later, Hall said, “I heard a loud scream from inside.”

Patrick Clancy had gone into the basement, where he testified Wednesday that he had found his children had been strangled with exercise bands.

Following today’s testimony, a jury visit is scheduled for Friday.

Jurors, attorneys and the judge will travel to the family’s former home on Summer Street in Duxbury, Massachusetts, where Lindsay Clancy killed her three children before jumping from a window. Police will secure the area during the visit.

“The parties will be permitted to visually inspect the outside of the property as well as the following interior areas: the basement, all rooms on the first floor, and all rooms on the second floor of the premises,” a court order states. “Parties are not permitted to open closet doors, touch any items within the premises, or disturb items.”

What happened yesterday in Lindsay Clancy trial?

Lindsay Clancy cried as she listened to the 911 recording from January 24, 2023 at her trial in Plymouth Superior Court on July 29, 2026.

Wednesday was an emotional day in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial as the jury heard from her ex-husband Patrick and also listened to the 911 call from the day she killed her three children.

When he got home from picking up dinner, Patrick said he found Lindsay outside on the ground, bloodied after trying to take her own life. He went into the basement and found the children had been killed with exercise bands.

He said he tried to give CPR before first responders arrived and took over, but it was too late.

“She killed the kids!” Patrick Clancy can be heard saying in the 911 call.

Hearing the 911 call for the first time, Lindsay Clancy was hunched over the defense table. When it concluded, court went into recess and she was wheeled out of the room, sobbing loudly.

Patrick Clancy finished his testimony at the end of the day, and in between his direct and cross-examination sessions, two other witnesses testified.
