Is Lawyer Alan Jackson Married? Meet the L.A. Deputy District Attorney Lisa Kassabian

Lawyer Alan Jackson has represented countless high-profile clients over the years, but his greatest partnership is with his wife, Lisa Kassabian.

Both Jackson and Kassabian are lawyers. Jackson is a partner at his law firm, Werksman, Jackson and Quinn. Kassabian, for her part, works as a Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney.

While Kassabian has kept a low-profile over the years, Jackson has been in the spotlight taking on cases defending countless Hollywood stars. He has defended Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey and most famously Karen Read.

In December 2025, Jackson represented Nick Reiner in the murder trial of Nick’s parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner. Nick was charged with two counts of first degree murder and Jackson briefly defended Nick in court. However, the following month, Jackson shockingly withdrew from the case. The attorney shared he could not ethically explain his reasoning for the case was due to “circumstances beyond his control” and “beyond Nick’s control.”

Keep scrolling for everything to know about Jackson’s wife:

During his time there, Jackson was the assistant head deputy of the major crimes division. While serving as assistant head deputy, Jackson prosecuted multiple cases and made a name for himself during the trial of Phil Spector. (Spector was accused of murdering actress Lana Clarkson. Despite pleading not guilty, he was convicted of the murder of and sentenced to 19 years to life in prison. Spector died in 2021 at age 81.)

In 2012, Jackson ran for district attorney but lost to Jackie Lacey. The following year, Jackson left the district attorney’s office and transitioned to a private practice. He has been a partner at Werksman Jackson and Quinn since 2019.

Why Did Alan Jackson Withdraw From Nick Reiner’s Case?

Alan Jackson made headlines after he withdrew from Nick Reiner’s murder case. While many have theorized Lisa Kassabian’s job at the district attorney’s office could have led to a conflict of interest, Jackson has not publicly shared his reasoning for the abrupt departure.

“Everybody’s got that same looming question, and I am compelled because of legal standards and ethical obligations; there’s certain things I simply cant divulge, Kelly, in terms of why there was a change in counsel, why we stepped away and the public defenders office stepped in and I will reiterate what I said in the press conference, which is, my team, me personally and my team, remain completely and utterly committed to Nick’s best interest,” Jackson said during a January 2026 appearance on the SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera” hosted by Kelly Ripa. “We always will be committed to his best interests. I want nothing but the best for him and I want him to get the most robust defense that he possibly can get. And I know he will in the hands of the public defender’s office.”
