Influencer faces legal action for fake-farting on a plane: ‘Compromises the onboard experience’

Well, that stinks.

Farting sounds and smells are, apparently, no laughing matter at 35,000 feet as an impish influencer has just been banned by an airline and threatened with legal action for pretending to break wind in the sky.

Yeferson Cossio, 31, a Colombian content creator with over 12.5 million Instagram followers, allegedly triggered a fart machine that produced realistic flatulent noises and odors as a prank during an Avianca flight from Bogotá, Colombia to Madrid, Spain on March 11, according to reports.

Yeferson Cossio has allegedly been barred from flying with Avianca, a major South American airline, for reportedly igniting a fake farting machine during a recent flight from Colombia to Spain. JamPress

And Avianca, a major South American commercial carrier, is now kicking up a stink over the funky offense.

“Avianca categorically rejects any behavior that jeopardizes the safety of its operations and compromises the onboard experience for customers and service personnel,” the company stressed in a March 29 statement, per JamPress.

Avianca did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for a comment.

The airline, however, is reportedly launching legal proceedings against Cossio, who’s accused of activating the fart machine to elicit and record repulsed reactions from fellow passengers in the cabin.

At least one female traveler was said to have been “deeply offended” by the smelly stunt.

Cossio was not immediately available to provide a comment to The Post.

He has yet to publicly release footage of the foul tomfoolery on social media.

Despite Cossio’s social media popularity, Avianca is reportedly planning to take legal action against him for the irksome escapade. JamPress

Avianca has argued that the gag violated its terms and conditions related to “conduct that affects safety, comfort, order and discipline on the aircraft.”

It, too, noted that Cossio pulled the prank as the aircraft was flying over the Atlantic Ocean, making an emergency landing virtually impossible due to the distance from the nearest airport.

The company insisted that in a closed environment, with a pressurised air recirculation system, the rotten act posed a direct risk to its customers.

Letting one rip — be it for real or for play — is on the long list of sky-high hijinks that, evidently, just won’t fly.

Erin Wright, a lesbian traveler in her 20s, recently claimed she was banned by American Airlines for having sexual relations with a man during a flight. And Kine-Chan, a bombshell Brazilian influencer, virally blasted staffers at Navegantes International Airport for placing her on the no-fly list after she attempted to board a plane in nothing but a “vulgar” black bikini.

No stranger to making headlines, Cossio recently achieved viral acclaim after undergoing a painful leg-lengthening surgery, which added two inches to his height. JamPress

Cossio’s condemnable escapade comes months after the internet icon underwent “the world’s most painful surgery” in the name of adding a few inches to his stature.

He spent a staggering $175,000 on a leg-lengthening procedure, which took him from a puny 5-foot-8 to an impressive 6-feet, in early 2024. The controversial op, however, rendered Cossio temporarily miserable.

“The last 11 or 12 days, I’ve only been able to sleep around two hours, maximum,” he lamented shortly after undergoing the extension. “And that is constantly interrupted by periods of 15 to 20 minutes because of the pain in my legs.”

“I have tried sleeping pills, but they don’t work for me,” groaned Cossio. “The pain wakes me up and I feel devastated.”
