CERRITOS, Calif. () — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was reportedly found stabbed to death Saturday morning in Cerritos.
The discovery was reported just before 8 a.m. near the intersection of South Street and Studebaker Road. A couple walking on the overpass over the San Gabriel River saw the body and called 911.
Detectives said the victim, described only as a man between 30 and 40 years old, appeared to have been homeless.
“We cannot tell the injuries at this point, but the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner will come and address the body and find out what kind of wounds there are and make the determination for the cause of death,” said Lt. Michael Modica with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau during an interview on Saturday.
Anyone with information about this incident is being asked to contact the LASD’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
