Fox News Media has officially cut ties with anchor Maria Bartiromo.
The company announced in a press release on Thursday, September 3, that Bartiromo, 58, was “no longer with Fox News Media,” effective immediately.
“We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” a Fox News Media spokesperson said in a statement to Us on Thursday.
Us has reached out to Bartiromo’s representatives for comment.
Per Fox News Media, her show Mornings with Maria will now become Mornings with Fox Business beginning on Friday, September 4, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET. A rotating set of anchors will take over as hosts of Mornings with Fox Business.
There will be further ripple effects across the Fox Business Network, as Bartiromo was one of the most visible anchors on the channel. Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street — which airs Fridays at 7 p.m. ET — will become FBN’s Wall Street starting this week. Fox Business anchor Cheryl Casone will host this Friday, followed by a rotating set of hosts beginning next week.
Weekend schedule changes are also on the horizon as former Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz stands in for Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures on Sunday, September 6, at 10 a.m. ET. A permanent replacement for Bartiromo will be announced “at a later date,” per Fox News Media.
“FBN will also launch a new weekday programming schedule which will be announced in the coming weeks,” the network confirmed.
Bartiromo joined Fox Business as global markets editor in 2014 after a 20-year stint with CNBC, which included hosting her own shows Closing Bell and On the Money with Maria Bartiromo.
She interviewed President Donald Trump multiple times since coming to Fox Business, though critics often accused her of not pressing the politician on hot-button topics.
Comments made by Bartiromo and her guests — along with other Fox personalities and pundits — about Trump’s 2020 election denialism were named in Dominion Voting Systems’ 2021 lawsuit against Fox News Channel and the Fox Corporation. A settlement between the parties was reached in April 2023 when Fox News agreed to pay the voting machine software and hardware manufacturer $787.5 million and acknowledge that the court determined “certain claims about Dominion [aired on Fox News] to be false,” per the Associated Press. (Fox was not required to make an on-air apology to Dominion as part of the settlement.)
“We are hopeful that our decision to resolve this dispute with Dominion amicably, instead of the acrimony of a divisive trial, allows the country to move forward from these issues,” a Fox spokesperson said at the time.
Dominion lawyer Justin Nelson told reporters in April 2023 that the settlement was proof that “the truth matters” and that “lies have consequences.”
