SPRING, Texas — An authorized raid is being conducted on a Spring, Texas-area home connected to the throwing of an explosive at an artificial intelligence company CEO’s home over the weekend, the FBI said on Monday morning.
The Montgomery County, Texas constable said the scene is linked to an earlier report from sister station, KGO, which reported that a 20-year-old suspect was arrested Saturday for throwing a Molotov cocktail at the San Francisco home of Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI.

Officials said no one was hurt.
The incident in San Fransicso happened on Friday, just after 5 a.m., on a section of Lombard Street in the Russian Hill neighborhood, according to a previous report. The suspect fled on foot but was later identified and detained. San Francisco police said the suspect allegedly previously threatened to burn down the OpenAI headquarters, officials said.
Houston affiliate KTRK’s helicopter was over the scene, where a large law enforcement presence was seen in Spring. FBI officials said the home may be connected to the suspect.
At this time, there have been no federal charges in this matter as officials continue to investigate the scene and uncover a motive.
News reports that the suspect may have had an obsession with AI companies and is determining his mental status.
Altman’s home was also struck by gunfire just days after the Molotov cocktail attack.
