Erling Haaland lookalike contest draws big crowd in Miami, winner takes home match tickets

MIAMI () — Fans put their resemblance to soccer star Erling Haaland to the test before Norway’s World Cup quarterfinal in Miami, competing in a celebrity lookalike contest inspired by the Norwegian striker.

Seventeen contestants took part in the competition, showing off their best Haaland impersonations ahead of the match.

One contestant explained why he entered the contest.

“Well, I think Haaland is one of the most beautiful men alive and I thought I’m one of the most beautiful men alive so we must look alike.”

A Norway supporter was declared the winner after a crowd vote.

The top prize was two tickets to Norway’s World Cup quarterfinal against England.

While the winner got a chance to watch Haaland in person, he did not get to see his lookalike advance. England beat Norway 2-1, ending Haaland’s World Cup run and securing a spot in the semifinals.
