Anderson is currently starring as ‘Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge! on Broadway, which plays its final performance on August 30. Moulin Rouge! The Musical opened to critical acclaim on July 25, 2019, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, where it holds the record for the highest-grossing production in the theatre’s 100-year history. The show won ten 2021 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Eric Anderson was Harold Zidler in the very first reading of Moulin Rouge! nearly ten years ago, and is honored to return to help close it out. He has originated roles on Broadway in The Great Gatsby, Waitress, Pretty Woman, Kinky Boots, Rocky, The Last Ship, and the title role of Soul Doctor (Drama Desk nomination). Film and television credits include: The Greatest Showman, Waitress: Live on Broadway, “American Classic,” “Elementary,” “Alias,” and Live from Lincoln Center: South Pacific. He is Jessica Rush’s husband and Elliot’s dad.
