Refillable deodorant is going mainstream as brands from Wild to Dove roll out reusable cases paired with swap-in refills. Here’s what shoppers should know about the biggest names driving the shift.

Refillable deodorant uses a reusable outer case, often made of stainless steel or durable plastic, paired with replaceable refill cartridges or pods, so the container stays and only the formula is swapped. Brands including Wild, Dove, Saltair and Fussy have built product lines around this system to cut down on single-use plastic tossed after every empty stick.
The mechanics vary by brand. Wild’s refills are compostable and made from bamboo pulp, so what you throw away is a biodegradable cartridge. Dove’s version pairs its formula with a reusable stainless-steel case designed to be kept long term. Saltair sells refill pods in rotating scents, while U.K.-based Fussy also centers its line on a reusable case with replaceable inserts. The common thread is a shift away from tossing the whole applicator once the deodorant runs out.
Where Can You Buy Wild Refillable Deodorant in the US?
Wild refillable deodorant is now available in Target stores nationwide, giving American shoppers mainstream retail access to a brand that built its reputation on plastic-free refills.
The system includes a reusable case sold in a variety of colors along with compostable refills made from bamboo pulp. Writing for The Independent, Brigitt Earley called Wild “one of the most thoughtful deodorant options out there” for shoppers trying to reduce plastic waste without sacrificing performance. Earley noted the brand also offers “a portable mini stick option, perfect for travel or popping in your bag for midday touch-ups,” and said the formula is designed for sensitive skin. Because Wild is not an antiperspirant, Earley said it “didn’t stop sweat” but “kept odor in check on errand-filled days and even during light workouts.”
How Does Dove’s Refillable Deodorant Work?
Dove’s first refillable deodorant pairs a reusable stainless-steel case with replacement refills, marking the personal care giant’s entry into the refill category.
The company frames the launch as a push against disposable culture. According to Dove’s website, the brand wants to help shoppers “leave disposable culture behind and buy products that we will treasure for life.” Dove also acknowledges refillables face a habit hurdle, noting people “tend to believe they’ll be too complicated to use or too messy to make people want to switch.” The brand says its ambition was “to create a simple, iconic and high quality object, touching all of your senses one by one, through the materials, the shape and the sounds.”
What Other Refillable Deodorant Brands Should You Know?
Beyond Wild and Dove, Saltair and Fussy are two more names shaping the refillable deodorant category, each with a different angle.
Saltair takes a beauty and skincare-driven approach. Its deodorant is aluminum-free, vegan and cruelty-free, with a clinically tested 24-hour odor-protection claim. The formula uses ingredients including BHAs and zinc ricinoleate to help address odor while exfoliating and smoothing skin. Saltair sells deodorant refill pods, with current scents including Pink Beach and Golden Hour.
Fussy is a UK-based refillable deodorant brand built around a reusable case and replaceable deodorant refills. Along with Wild, Dove and Saltair, it reflects a growing crop of companies betting that shoppers will keep the outer packaging and buy only the refill going forward, a model aimed at reducing the volume of empty plastic sticks that end up in the trash.
