Disneyland will close two iconic attractions next month: report

The happiest place on Earth may be a little less joyful in the coming weeks.

Disneyland is temporarily closing its beloved Monorail from next month for the first time in more than 65 years, a new report claims.

According to Inside The Magic, Disney has announced that the attraction will be out of service from Mar. 30 for renovations and hasn’t issued a reopening date.

Since it opened in 1959, the Monorail has carried millions of guests along a scenic route between Tomorrowland and Downtown Disney. More than 340,000 visitors use the attraction each year, per The Street.

The theme park hasn’t disclosed the reason for its closure, but Inside The Magic reports that Disney recently filed for a construction permit to replace digital entry and exit signs and “make small upgrades to the network’s electrical system.”

It comes after a power failure on Jan. 8 that grounded two monorail trains at the park.

The incident “serves as a reminder that even Disney’s most reliable transportation systems require constant attention and modernization,” Inside The Magic states.

Meanwhile, Disneyland is also purportedly shutting down the “Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin” for renovations on the same day.

The attraction, located within Mickey’s Toontown, has been in operation since 1994 and is inspired by the smash 1990 film “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.”

Disneyland has not disclosed whether the closure is for standard maintenance or to make aesthetic updates.

A reopening date has also been unannounced.

The Post has contacted Disney officials for further information on the renovations and reopening dates for both attractions.
