Deadly hit-and-run crash involving 5 vehicles in Palmdale

PALMDALE, Calif. () — At least one person was killed in a hit-and-run crash involving five cars in Palmdale, triggering an investigation.

The deadly incident happened just before 9:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of 47th Street East and Avenue R-8, according to the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

Video from the crash site shows significant damage to four cars. Authorities said a fifth car fled the scene.

Witnesses say two cars were seen racing prior to the crash, but authorities could not provide further details.

One victim died at the hospital, but it’s unclear how many others may have been injured.
