Dakota Mortensen’s Temporary Protective Order Against Ex Taylor Frankie Paul Granted: Read the Docs

Dakota Mortensen was granted a temporary protective order against Taylor Frankie Paul amid new domestic violence allegations.

“The Court finds there is reason to believe: it has jurisdiction over the parties and this case, the Respondent and Petitioner are cohabitants, the Respondent will be served notice of her opportunity to be heard at the scheduled hearing,” court documents obtained by Us Weekly reads, referring to Paul, 31, as the respondent and Mortensen, 33, as the petitioner. “And the Respondent has abused or committed domestic violence against Petitioner, or that there is a substantial likelihood that Respondent immediately threatens Petitioner’s physical safety.”

Per the order, Paul is unable to have any contact with Mortensen and must “obey all orders included on this form and to not abuse, or threaten to abuse, anyone protected by this order.”

Paul and Mortensen will have a hearing Tuesday, April 7, regarding the accusations. Until then, the MomTok creator must stay “100 feet” away from her ex and cannot “contact, phone, mail, email or communicate in any way” before the hearing.

News broke earlier this week that Utah police were called to Paul’s house after an alleged altercation with Mortensen. Taylor, who shares two children with ex-husband Tate Paul and 2-year-old son Ever with Mortensen, was previously arrested for domestic violence after a 2023 fight with the DadTok member. She pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.

Mortensen filed for a protective order on Thursday, March 19, shortly after resurfaced 2023 footage of Taylor throwing a stool at him made headlines. In his petition, he also requested temporary sole custody of Ever.

“The Petitioner will have temporary custody of the minor children of the parties,” the filing reads. “The person with custody may give a copy of this order to the principal or director of the child’s school or daycare. If you do not obey the custody and parent-time orders listed here, the person with custody may ask for the court help by filing a motion to enforce the order.”

Per the order, Taylor will not have any visitation with Ever until her court hearing next month.

“Parent time temporarily suspended pending hearing and recommendation of Guardian ad Litem,” the docs state. “If there is a No Contact order, you can communicate with the Petitioner or the person with custody only about parent-time matters through [a] legal representative.”

Taylor Frankie Paul was seemingly able to laugh off her past arrest. “Tip: don’t throw things, you might see police lights,” Paul, 31, wrote over an August 2025 TikTok video of herself lip-synching to Rihanna’s “Breakin’ Dishes” about an unfaithful partner. “I’m breakin’ dishes up in here, all night,” the lyrics read. “I ain’t gon’ […]

In light of Taylor and Mortensen’s altercation and custody dispute, ABC canceled her upcoming season of The Bachelorette.

“Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security,” a spokesperson for Taylor told Us in a Thursday statement. “After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.”

The rep added, “There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support and preparing to own and share her story.”

Mortensen, for his part, denied any accusations against him in a separate statement.

“As anyone who has seen the video will understand, this is a deeply upsetting situation,” Mortensen told Us. “I am, unfortunately, used to these baseless claims about me and our relationship, which I categorically deny. I am focusing on our son and his safety, and hope that Taylor will do the same.”
