Chipotle removes jalapeños connected to Minnesota salmonella outbreak after 110 people get sick

Here we go again.

Mexican fast-food chain Chipotle is replacing jalapeños at some of its eateries amid a salmonella outbreak in Minnesota, the company said Tuesday.

About 110 people have been sickened just in the Land of 10,000 Lakes — with 75 of the affected people having eaten at a Chipotle, Bloomberg reported.

Chipotle said, “The jalapeños in question were sent to several food service retailers across multiple states.”

After launching its “ingredient traceability system,” the chain zeroed in on the jalapeños and the locations where they ended up, a spokesperson told The Post.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we proactively removed the jalapeños from our restaurants and replaced them with product from different growers,” the spokesperson added.

Other states are participating in the investigation, the Chipotle flack told Bloomberg, with the scope of the outbreak not yet clear.

The company declined to identity the supplier of the problematic peppers.

The concerning news comes on the heels of a massive cyclospora outbreak that has sickened more than 22,000 people across the country and which turned deadly on Monday, when the Michigan Department of Health announced that two people had died.

That outbreak and investigation are ongoing, with many of the cases tied to Taco Bell. Its supplier Taylor Farms issued a recall of iceberg lettuce that was shipped to restaurants and grocery stores last month.

Chipotle shares tumbled 10% on Tuesday.
