BREA, Calif. () — Evacuation warnings have been issued for a brush fire burning in Orange County.
The Orange County Fire Authority says crews are working with the Brea Fire Department and Brea Police Department to get the flames under control.
The Carbon Fire, which is burning in unincorporated Brea, is estimated to be about 60 acres.
Evacuation warnings were initially issued for El Rodeo Stables, Brea Hills Avenue, Olina Village and Hollydale.
In a later update, the OC Fire Authority said the warnings had been lifted for El Rodeo Stable and Brea Hills Avenue. Warnings remain in place for Olina Village and Hollydale.
Authorities say both aircraft and ground crews are battling the flames. At this point, no structures are threatened.
By about 4:30 p.m., the OC Fire Authority said firefighters had significantly slowed the fire’s progress.
Authorities are asking anyone evacuating from the area to only drive east on Carbon Canyon Road. The road is closed between Brea Hills and Ruby.
