California victims react to ‘Tesla road rage driver’ getting 7-year prison sentence in Hawaii

LOS ANGELES () — A man captured on video attacking people on streets and freeways in Southern California and later assaulting victims in Hawaii has been sentenced to seven years in prison, bringing a sense of relief to those he targeted.

Nathaniel Radimak pleaded no contest in Honolulu to assaulting two women and was sentenced in connection with that case. His victims in Southern California say the outcome in Hawaii finally brings a measure of justice after a series of violent encounters that gained widespread attention.

“It is time for Mr. Radimak to be held accountable for his actions and to receive the mental health intervention he clearly needs,” victim Vivian Romero said Tuesday at a news conference organized by attorney Gloria Allred.

Radimak was previously convicted in Southern California following multiple incidents in which he was seen on camera driving a Tesla and violently confronting motorists.

Video from those encounters showed him banging on vehicles during roadside altercations.

Another recorded incident inside a Hawaii gym captured him punching a victim.

Despite the earlier conviction in Southern California, Radimak was released after serving only one year.

Allred criticized the earlier release, raising concerns about public safety and accountability.

“Radimak was released early in Los Angeles because of overcrowding,” Allred said. “If this is true, it is shocking that a violent criminal who was clearly a danger to others was released early and that he received no meaningful justice until he struck again in Hawaii and was convicted there.”

Allred also said she doubts Radimak will be extradited to Los Angeles County for violating parole, noting that he would likely face only a short sentence of about six months.

Hawaii corrections officials said Radimak was beaten while in custody there.

For the victims, the sentence offers some reassurance, even as they acknowledge he will eventually be released.

“We all can breathe a little easier, knowing that he will have the time he needs in a space away from the general public,” said victim Beth Lamprecht.
