Authorities in Texas said a body was found Tuesday amid the search for missing Camila Mendoza Olmos who was last seen on Christmas Eve.
According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar in south Texas, the body was found in a field close to Mendoza Olmo’s home on Tuesday afternoon.
No foul play is suspected at this time, authorities said. A firearm was also recovered near the body.
The Medical Examiner’s office will determine the body’s identity and cause of death.
Salazar previously said the 19-year-old may have been having mental health challenges.

A Southern California family is seeking answers after their 19-year-old loved one in Texas vanished on Christmas Eve.
Camila Mendoza Olmos has been missing since Wednesday morning, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office in south Texas.
Mendoza Olmos grew up in Southern California and still has close family ties. Her relatives in Ontario are doing all they can to help with the search as investigators in Texas struggle to find clues regarding her whereabouts.
“It’s been very heartbreaking,” Priscilla Flores, Mendoza Olmos’ cousin, told Eyewitness News Monday. “It’s just unbelievable, everything that’s going on, especially this time of year.”
The worried family that’s hundreds of miles away from Texas is desperate for answers. Mendoza Olmos was born in Ontario and went to elementary school there.
“(It’s) very overwhelming for everyone. All these scenarios running through our heads… none of us really know what happened,” family member Jaclyn Flores said. “We just know this is not her. It’s not like her.”
New dashboard camera video released may show Mendoza Olmos right when she went missing. Investigators believe footage shows the college student walking near her home the morning she disappeared.
“We’ve got to consider all possibilities at this point,” Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said at a news conference. “Unfortunately, for us, we can’t start narrowing that down until some evidence takes us to that, and we’re not there yet.”
Salazar said the 19-year-old could be in imminent danger and may have been having mental health challenges.
Authorities and numerous volunteers, including a dozen family members from California, have been combing the area for any clues.
“It’s a family that’s super tight knit,” family member Destiny Mendoza said. “We’re all there for each other.”
Mendoza Olmos was seen on surveillance video rummaging through her car Christmas Eve morning, then walking out of sight.
Her family says she doesn’t have her phone.
“It’s hard. It’s devastating on the family, both physical and mental… and we need all the help we can get right now,” said Jaime Mendoza, the 19-year-old’s uncle.
Jaclyn Flores added: “We’re just waiting for some kind of answer. Any kind of answer, just begging God that she comes home soon.”
