MID-CITY, LOS ANGELES () — A dispute over loud music led to a police shooting Tuesday morning in Mid-City.
The incident started around 6:40 a.m. on Alsace Avenue when a suspect brandished a weapon at a person who asked him to turn down his music, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
When officers arrived, they opened fire. The suspect was shot in the upper-body and taken to a hospital in stable condition, LAPD said.
Police say officers made contact with the suspect in the driveway of an apartment building, and a knife and gun were recovered from the scene.
AIR7 was above the scene and captured the weapons on the ground and about a dozen evidence markers placed nearby.
Police said they were initially called to the area for an argument over loud music before shots were fired.
Police say it’s unclear if the suspect ever fired his gun or pointed it but says bodycam footage will be reviewed.
