SAN JOSE, Calif. — Three people, including a child, were injured Saturday afternoon when a small plane crashed onto a roadway in Northern California, according to fire officials.
The crash was reported shortly after 3 p.m. near Capitol Expressway and Excalibur Drive in San Jose, where a single-engine propeller plane went down on the street.
The San Jose Fire Department said two adults and one child were aboard the plane. All three were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Federal Aviation Administration records show the plane is a 1968 Cessna 177A Cardinal registered to Flying Twenty Inc., a nonprofit flight club for San Jose State University students, alumni and faculty.
No vehicles on the ground were involved in the crash, according to the fire department. Officials said a minor fuel spill was contained and absorbed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
