Woman reunites with long-lost dad after 27 years by tracking him down on Facebook

A woman met her long-lost father after 27 years when she tracked him down on Facebook.

Queen Soulara Kadija Tall, 27, grew up with her now-estranged mother and two sisters, never questioning her father’s absence.

In July 2025, she checked her birth certificate, saw the name Mountaga Tall, 69, and took a DNA test, which came back showing she had Guinea heritage, so she immediately knew who her father was.

She then took to Facebook, where volunteers called ‘search angels’ traced his last known address to Atlanta, Georgia – coincidentally near her partner’s home.

The address was old, so Queen Kadija posted her story in another group, ‘The Girl Code Atlanta’, where it was spotted by a cousin she never knew existed.

On July 30, 2025, Mountaga called her on WhatsApp, and they spoke for the first time, and Queen Kadija is now planning a trip to Guinea, in West Africa, to see him.

Queen Kadija, a content creator, from Atlanta, Georgia, said: “When the topic came up about my dad, it was always shut down.

“It was always normal for me to have one parent. When you have one parent growing up, you don’t question that as a child.

“When I spoke to my dad for the first time, I was in disbelief. I couldn’t believe it.

“I have not had a dad my whole life; my dad has been so supportive this past couple of months.

“To have him as a parent now, I am like, wow, thank god.”

“Whenever I asked my mom about my dad, she shut me down,” she said.

“It got to the point where I realized that my mom was never going to give me answers, and I needed to find them out for myself.”

Her initial post on Facebook featured his name, asking if anyone had any information about him.

“These incredible people, called search angels, had found a few addresses where my dad lived and the most recent was in Atlanta,” she said.

She knocked on the door with partner, Damirrea, 34.

Sadly, Mountaga was not at the property, so Queen Kadija took to Facebook again.

The post read: “Hey ladies, I am asking from the bottom of my heart – please help me.

“I’m looking for my birth father, and recent information suggested he is living in or near Atlanta, Georgia.

“I don’t know if he is still alive, but I’m praying that he is.”

Within a day, Queen Kadija got two messages from men claiming to be her cousin.

She then made a group chat with them both, and they confirmed how they knew each other and passed her number onto her dad.

On July 30, 2025, Queen Kadija received a phone call out of the blue, which turned out to be from her dad, calling from Guinea, Africa, where he now resides.

Mountaga met Queen Kadija’s mother in December 1994 and welcomed their daughter together on March 8, 1998.

Sadly, in July 2005, when Queen Kadija was four, Mountaga was deported back to Guinea from New Hampshire, where he was living at the time – and had no contact with Queen Kadija until this year.

Queen Kadija said: “When I answered the phone, I was instantly crying.

“He answered the phone with ‘Kadija, thank god, I have prayed for this.’

“He was telling me a lot about my mom, my sisters and the nicknames of my older sisters who were adopted as children.

“I was so depressed as a child, and once even tried to end my life, but during this phone call, I was so happy that I lived to experience this.

“Not a day goes by that I don’t speak to him.”

Mountaga added: “I was in my car when Kadija’s cousin called me and said he thinks he found Kadija.

“When I saw her photo, I knew that was my baby. Thank god, I thought.

“I prayed every day and knew my daughter would find me one day.”
