Who Is Club Chalamet? What to Know About the Social Media Account After Timothee Chalamet Interaction

Timothée Chalamet’s self-proclaimed “superfan” Club Chalamet is divisive among the Marty Supreme actor’s most ardent supporters.

Simone Cromer founded her Club Chalamet social media in 2017 (with her more-popular X account following in 2018) and describes herself as simply “a GenX LA-based super fan account in support of 2x Oscar-nominated, Critics’ Choice award-winning actor, Timothée Chalamet.” Some critics, however, argue that her posts push the boundaries of socially acceptable fandom.

Cromer insists that her support of Chalamet is purely platonic, likening their dynamic to an aunt cheering on her nephew. (Cromer and Chalamet have a 29-year age gap.)

“I can’t change the fact that I was born in 1966. I don’t want to be a 24-year-old white girl running Club Chalamet. I am who I am,” she told The Wall Street Journal in December 2025.

Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner were the center of attention at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards. The reality star, 28, supported her actor boyfriend, 30, at the Sunday, January 4, awards show at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, amid his nomination for Marty Supreme. Though the pair did not walk the red carpet together […]

In January 2026, Cromer raised eyebrows within the Chalamet fan community for an interaction that she described with the actor at the Palm Springs International Film Awards Gala. After posing with Chalamet and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, inside the event, her behavior was slammed for being “so haunting” and “deeply creepy.”

Who Is Club Chalamet?

Simone Cromer started an Instagram account dedicated to her fandom of Timothée Chalamet in early 2018 after watching his acclaimed performance in Call Me by Your Name.

“It wasn’t until the second viewing of Call Me by Your Name that it clicked. Like, ‘Jeez, this kid is going places,’” she told The Wall Street Journal in December 2025.

As of December 2025, she was 59 years old and worked full-time in the healthcare industry. What started as a way for Cromer to share Chalamet-themed memes and photos grew into a social empire where she has more than 50,000 followers on X, nearly 15,000 on Instagram and reportedly nearly 40 paying subscribers on an official Club Chalamet Substack.

“I didn’t anticipate, expect or want this kind of attention,” Cromer told WSJ. “I’m just a fan at the end of the day.”

Cromer has dedicated herself to assisting Chalamet in winning an Oscar. As part of her Substack account — where readers can pay $65 per year for standard access or $150 per year for “premium” content — she outlines PR strategies that she believes Chalamet and his team should follow during awards season.

“Helping Timothée win the Oscar is the ONLY thing that matters! The only thing,” she wrote via Instagram in January 2026. “Be happy for him when he wins these awards, because he has worked so hard to earn these nominations and he has sacrificed a lot, a hell of a lot! I’m fully on board in continuing to do my part as I have been doing since late 2017!”

Substack confirmed to WSJ in December 2025 that one of its representatives personally invited Cromer to start her own subscription blog.

“Substack has a dedicated team focused on identifying and supporting writers and creators of all kinds, including fan-driven communities like Club Chalamet’s,” a Substack spokesperson told the outlet.

Cromer has started to receive media coverage of her own. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news in January 2025 that Cromer lost her Altadena, California, home during the Pacific Palisades fires.

“I have been in a fog of confusion, I have been scared about what to do next, and I have been exhausted from not sleeping well, all between shedding tears,” she wrote via X at the time. “Each passing day I get a bit stronger and I’m confident I will move on from this stronger, thanks to friends.”

Cromer later told her followers that she’d moved in with friends.

How Has Club Chalamet Addressed Timothee Chalamet’s Girlfriend Kylie Jenner?

One of the more contentious aspects of Simone Cromer’s fandom of the A Complete Unknown actor revolves around Timothée Chalamet’s nearly three-year relationship with reality star Kylie Jenner.

Cromer has insinuated on her Club Chalamet social media accounts that the actor’s relationship with Jenner may be fake. She does not refer to Jenner by name in most of her social posts, instead referring to the Kardashians star as “a guest” or “Ms. K.”

Posts on the Club Chalamet accounts have speculated that Jenner may be impacting Chalamet’s chances at winning an Oscar. Cromer had a diplomatic response when asked directly by The Wall Street Journal whether she believes an actor’s dating life can influence their awards season success.

“Any suggestions I make are just coming from a speculation of what I would like to see,” Cromer replied. “I’m sure Timothée is going to have a lot of fun at this upcoming awards season. I really think that the merit of his performance is what the voters are going to focus on, and I’m still going to be there to support him.”

Has Club Chalamet Addressed Criticism From Other Fans?

Simone Cromer is a hugely controversial figure among Timothée Chalamet’s fans. While she has very vocal supporters, other Chalamet fans have complained that Club Chalamet does not respect healthy boundaries with the actor.

One notable incident occurred when Cromer clapped back at fans and media personalities comparing Chalamet to Anora breakout star Mark Eydelshteyn.

“I cannot believe they need to refer to the actor in Anora as the ‘Russian Timothée Chalamet of Anora.’ WTF?” she vented via X in October 2024. “Do you need that click-bait attention by using Timmy’s name on a film he has nothing to do with? Why can’t the media leave Timothée alone? Stop comparing new young actors with pale skin and dark wavy hair as a Timothée Chalamet guy. Where are the Tom Holland lookalike actor comparisons? Yeah, not much clickbait value in that!”

A Club Chalamet follower replied: “Tbf, you drag Timothy’s name into any and everything even when it doesn’t involve him. This is the other side to that same coin. I love you by the way please don’t block me.”

“Tom holland catching strays and for what?” another X user quipped.

In January 2025, Cromer alleged that she’d been the victim of trolling and harassment after her Altadena, California, house burned down in the Palisades Fires in January 2025.

“These type of people don’t matter to me, they never have, and never will,” she wrote. “It says so much about their character to take joy in learning that someone’s home burned down, not realizing that I wasn’t even the homeowner, and that I risked my life rescuing 5 animals where most people would have left them to die, especially when you have the Altadena sheriff’s department yelling at you through a bullhorn to evacuate NOW!”

She went on, “To those of you who have sent me private messages laughing at me, wishing I had died in the fire too, or that you’re drinking champagne at my misery, or that it’s my ‘karma,’ just know that I know what you are and you do not matter to me.”

“I read some of these messages, deleted and blocked them, and it doesn’t hurt me because, again, I know what you are. You are heartless and evil, and you’re the type of people who would loot the ashes of the homes to find scraps,” Cromer complained.

Why Did Club Chalamet Cause Controversy at the Palm Springs Film Festival?

Simone Cromer described an encounter with Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner at the Palm Springs International Film Awards Gala on January 3, 2026. Cromer was in attendance to see Chalamet accept the Spotlight Actor of the Year Award for Marty Supreme.

“Ok, so I gave Timothée a hug and said Happy Birthday here at the Palm Springs film festival gala,” she revealed via X. “I told [Chalamet’s manager Brian Swardstrom] that this is Timothée’s year, and he said he hopes so.”

When an X follower asked whether Cromer said “hi” to Jenner, she replied, “I was inches from her. No problems.”

Over on Instagram, Cromer offered more details about how she approached Chalamet at his table prior to the ceremony.

“Prior to receiving the award, I stopped by his table where I spoke with his agent @brianswardstrom first, and wished him a Happy New Year and I told Brian that I believe that this is finally his year to win the Oscar, and Brian said that he hoped so,” she recalled. “I then went to Timothée and smiled at him, he smiled at me and we hugged, I wished him a happy birthday and he said thanks. Things were happening so damn fast.”

Cromer recalled that Jenner — who she referenced only as “Ms. K” — was “walking away to go to the side” during her interaction with Chalamet.

“Timmy’s bestie, @dom_sesto was also in attendance and I introduced myself and said hello to him, he’s so damn cute,” Cromer added. “The announcer told everyone to go to their seats, and me and @coreyhartless went to our table. What a great evening! Congratulations Timothée!”

Cromer also shared photos that she shot of Chalamet inside the event. It is not clear whether Cromer purchased a reserved seat at the Palm Springs International Film Awards Gala — which can cost as much as $100,000 for a whole table — or received some kind of special invitation.

“The fact his team would let her be anywhere near him is… yikes,” one fan worried via Reddit.

Another Reddit user complained, “That woman gives me the creeps.”

Not everyone was critical of the interaction. One Club Chalamet follower wrote that Cromer must have had “a totally amazing and magical evening,” while another replied that it was “so awesome you guys got to meet again.”

Nonetheless, Cromer announced the following day that she was restricting comments via her Instagram due to “an extreme increase in troll activity in the past 36 hours.”

“[It] has me very concerned. It’s so bad that it’s distracting from a moment where we should be openly celebrating Timmy,” Cromer wrote. “What I find troubling is that the trolling is coming from people who appear to be prone to violence and unhinged behavior, strange beliefs, and irrational opinions to the point where normal commenters have had to respond with alarm, and I don’t want the good people here to have to be subjected to that.”

What Has Timothee Chalamet Said About Club Chalamet?

Us Weekly has reached out to Timothée Chalamet’s representatives for comment on the Palm Springs International Film Awards Gala controversy.

When Simone Cromer was profiled by The Wall Street Journal in December 2025, Chalamet’s representatives declined to comment.
