Ashely Tisdale French and Vanessa Hudgens were once close friends but have seemingly drifted apart over the years.
French and Hudgens are best known for starring in the High School Musical franchise as Sharpay Evans and Gabriella Montez, respectively, but their friendship started earlier when they appeared together in a different project.
“We actually worked together a year before in a Sears commercial, and from that day on we were super close,” French exclusively told Us Weekly in 2019. “So people don’t really — I think some people know that, but they think it was that movie that brought us together and it really wasn’t.”
Their friendship remained strong for a decade as Hudgens was a bridesmaid in Ashley’s wedding to husband Christopher French. However, things seemingly took a turn when Ashley was missing from Hudgens’ 2023 wedding to Cole Tucker. Rumors swirled that the pair had a friendship breakup, with Ashley later sharing that the twosome were busy with their respective lives.
