Authorities have launched an international manhunt for a Utah mother who allegedly abducted her four children and fled to Europe with them after telling her ex-husband she is convinced these are the end times.
Desperate father Kendall Seymour has launched a GoFundMe campaign to fund an overseas trip to search for his kids: Landon Hal Seymour, 11, Levi Parker Seymour, 8, Hazel Rae Seymour, 7, and Jacob Kurt Brady, who is 3.
Kendall said the FBI has joined the search for his ex-wife and the mother of his three children — Elleshia Anne Seymour, 35 — after she left a “delusional” note behind that has left him gravely concerned for their lives.
“I didn’t know about any of these ideas of hers until a couple of weeks ago when someone found her TikTok account,” Kendall told KSL-TV. “She thinks Salt Lake is going to be destroyed and she is trying to get the kids to safety. My only hope is that she is motivated to protect them. There were no signs of that when we were married or divorced in the last five years.”
Kendall said Elleshia and the kids boarded a November 30 flight out of Salt Lake City International Airport that was bound for Amsterdam. After a brief layover, the flight continued on to Croatia, he said, adding the tickets were all one-ways.
“We didn’t learn until Tuesday Dec 2 that anyone was missing,” he added, noting the youngest of the four children has a different biological father. “Elle forged passport documents for the kids, left behind a note dictating a delusional message from God promising her she would be in Italy by Christmas, and a to-do list that mentioned ‘shred paperwork, destroy identifying photos, throw away phone, purchase pre-paid phone.’”
He said he has spoken to “someone who was dropped off in a foreign country at 8 yrs old where they didn’t speak the language, and they strongly suggested that we personally go pick them up wherever they are found. This will minimize the trauma.”
In addition to a flight to Europe to be there for his kids, the money raised through GoFundMe will pay for any therapy the children may need after they are found. “She hasn’t been located, but the FBI has good people working on it who love their job, and working together with family connections will get the kids home as soon as possible,” he wrote on the fundraising page, which has surpassed its $12,000 goal.
West Jordan Police have already charged Elleshia with four counts of custodial interference and removing a child from the state, both felonies. When police were asked to check on the kids at hers home on December 2, the front door was unlocked.
Police said no one has heard from Elleshia since November 29. Security footage from the airports confirms Elleshia and the children made their flights.
As is customary, the Utah Department of Public Safety issued an endangered and missing advisory for the children on December 10.
“My genuine hope is that the kids are found quickly, and we can pick them up while they still think they’re on a vacation,” Kendall added in his plea for donations.
Elleshia stands 5-foot-3 and has dark hair. She has been known to use the alias Elle McKinnon Brady.
