Pakistan Election 2024: Security Official Shot Dead At Polling Station in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Islamabad: A security official was shot dead at a polling station in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. As per reports, the voting at the polling station has been suspended for the time being.
As per an Al Jazeera report, the incident took place at Tank in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Police official have suspended the polling at this station until further notice.
Pakistan will be voting for its next national assembyl and the pronvicial governments today – February 8, 2024. As the polling negins across the country, around 6,50,000 security forces personnel have been deployed to ensure a “peaceful election”.
The polls are taking place amid various security concerns. Pakistan has also closed its borders with Afghanistan at Torkham and Iran due to security threats.
Furthermore, mobile and internet services have been suspended across the country for today to ensure “law and order”.
